From January to August, the industrial added value of textile enterprises above designated size decreased by 2.8% year-on-year, and the operating income was 2,963.1 billion yuan, down by 4.2% year-on-year; Total profit was 87.1 billion yuan, down 12.1 percent year on year. The output of yarn, cloth and clothing of enterprises above designated size fell by 1.7%, 4.6% and 10.3%, respectively, while the output of chemical fiber increased by 6.9%.

From January to August, the total retail sales of consumer goods by units above designated size in China reached 1,336.4 billion yuan, an increase of 5.9% over the same period last year. Among them, the retail sales of clothing, shoes and hats and textile products by units above designated size increased by 10.6% over the same period last year, and the retail sales of physical goods wearing goods online increased by 10.9% over the same period last year.

From January to August, China's textile and apparel cumulative exports of US $1972 billion, down 10.0%, of which August exports of US $27.9 billion, down 8.4%, down 9.2 percentage points from the previous month.
