PP yarn process flow!

PP yarn refers to polypropylene yarn, also known as polypropylene strong filament. It is a synthetic fiber yarn made from polypropylene as raw material. The following is its production process flow:

Raw material preparation:

Choosing polypropylene particles: This is the basic raw material for producing PP yarn, requiring high purity and good quality of particles to ensure stable quality of yarn produced in the future. The manufacturer will choose polypropylene particles of different specifications and properties according to the specific requirements of the product.

Drying treatment: Due to the easy absorption of moisture in the air by polypropylene particles, drying treatment is required before processing to remove moisture. Polypropylene particles are usually placed in a drying device and dried under certain temperature and time conditions to reduce the moisture content of the particles to an appropriate range.

Melt extrusion:

Extruder heating: Dry polypropylene particles are added to the extruder, which heats the particles to a molten state through a heating device. The heating temperature is generally between 200 ℃ and 300 ℃, and the specific temperature is adjusted according to the characteristics of polypropylene and production process requirements.

Extrusion film formation: Under the action of high temperature and screw rotation, molten polypropylene is extruded into a continuous thin film. The extrusion speed and pressure of the extruder need to be precisely controlled to ensure uniform thickness and stable quality of the film.

Cooling molding:

Cooling of water cooling device: The polypropylene film extruded from the extruder enters the water cooling device for cooling. Water cooling devices usually consist of cooling water tanks, guide rollers, and conveyor rollers. The film is rapidly cooled and solidified in a cooling water tank through the cooling effect of water, forming a solid PP film.

Air cooling assisted cooling: In addition to water cooling, some production processes also use air cooling assisted cooling to accelerate the cooling speed of the film and improve production efficiency. The air cooling device blows cold air towards the film through a fan, further reducing the temperature of the film.

Stretching treatment:

Preheating: The cooled PP film needs to undergo preheating treatment before entering the stretching device. Preheating can increase the temperature of the film, making it easier to stretch, while also reducing stress concentration during the stretching process and improving the quality of the yarn.

Stretching: The preheated PP film enters the stretching device and undergoes longitudinal and transverse stretching under the action of the stretching roller. The stretching ratio depends on the requirements of the product, usually between 3-5 times. During the stretching process, it is necessary to control parameters such as stretching speed, stretching temperature, and stretching force to ensure that the yarn is stretched evenly and the strength meets the requirements.

Cut into silk:

Selection of cutting tools: After stretching, the PP film becomes a sheet with certain strength and toughness, which needs to be cut into filaments using cutting tools. The selection of cutting tools is very important, requiring sharp and wear-resistant tools that can ensure cutting accuracy and efficiency.

Cutting into yarn: According to the set yarn fineness, the PP sheet is cut into filaments of the corresponding diameter to obtain PP yarn. The cut PP yarn needs to be sorted and collected for subsequent processing and packaging.

Post processing:

Heat setting: In order to eliminate the internal stress generated during the production process of PP yarn, improve the dimensional stability and strength of the yarn, it is necessary to perform heat setting treatment on PP yarn. The heat setting temperature is generally between 100 ℃ and 150 ℃, and the time is adjusted according to the specifications and performance requirements of the yarn.

Quality inspection: Conduct quality inspection on the produced PP yarn, including testing of yarn fineness, strength, elongation at break, color fastness and other indicators. Only PP yarn that meets quality standards can enter the packaging process.

Packaging and storage:

Packaging: Packaging qualified PP yarn according to certain specifications and packaging requirements. Packaging materials usually use plastic bags, cardboard boxes, etc. to ensure that the yarn is not contaminated or damaged during storage and transportation.

Storage: The packaged PP yarn needs to be stored in a dry, ventilated, and cool warehouse, away from direct sunlight and humid environments. At the same time, it is necessary to classify and store according to different specifications and varieties for management and use.
